Before Hiring a Roofing Contractor – Golden Tip #4Written by Macbeth Roofing on September 19th, 2012
Today we’re going to be covering big question number 4 when it comes to interviewing potential roofing contractors. This one is another great question and one not a lot of people outside of the roofing industy (that’s everyone, isn’t it? 🙂 ) may think of asking.
What kind of roofing system do I need and what is the process for installing or repairing it?
There are many different types of roofing structures and materials available in the market but there is only one that will be the best choice for your particular project. By asking multiple roofing experts what they recommend and comparing the results you should be able to get a clear understanding of which is right for you.
Once you’ve gotten your answer to the above question, you’ll want the roofer to expand upon the process involved with the work you need done. At this stage you’re not looking for a full plan outlining every cost and detail involved in the project but you do want to get a clear understanding of what you can expect should you decide to go ahead.
You will also want to get further information about the materials they plan on using. If you’re looking at replacing a shingle roof, ask which manufacturer of shingles they normally use and why. Find out about the manufacturer’s warranty and make sure you’re comfortable with the answers that they give you.
Not every roofer will have the same opinion so it is always a good idea to get a few then choose the one that you feel most comfortable with.
